5.0 out of 5 stars Motivating and Informative
October 2, 2016
Format: Paperback

Chrys Chryssanthou’s helpful new book advises how to remain young, especially at an older age.

The real value in this book is that it is not written by a 40-year old but by a physician more than twice that age – someone who, at age 90, wants to share what he has learned with readers of all ages. There is more to learn from someone of a much older age because such a person has ‘gotten there’ so to speak, while remaining active and productive at that older age.

The book first gives a historical review of mankind’s quest for means to preserve youth followed by a prescription for achieving ageless aging. The prescription emphasizes the pivotal importance of exercise in averting and even reversing the frailties of old age.

In addition to excellent tips and confirmation of anti-aging’s popular tenets (healthy diet, no smoking), there are also mentions of new anti-aging therapies as well as the author’s own personal insights on what has worked for him.

The book is highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ageless Aging Advice Taken to Heart

Typically, you’ll find self help books where the author talks the talk but does not walk the walk. Not in this case with Chryssanthou’s personal and first-hand account of staying young. Since I’m in my mid-fifties, I’m starting to take an interest in people who not only achieved the milestone of celebrating their 90th birthday but who have lived their lives well. Chryssanthou provides his prescription to achieve ageless aging – practical advice from someone who embraces life and opportunities every day at the age of ninety. Most of us, I think, are afraid of getting old so we live in fear without goals and as Chryssanthou says, “they don’t live, they only exist”. He points out how important dreams, goals and purposes are – no matter how small or big – as the journey gives us the well-being that makes us act, feel and look young. His prescription, from maintaining good health in various forms to setting goals, is easy to follow and will be on my “go-to” book shelf for quick reminders to live life well!
